The lifeline of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board was constituted on 1 November 1989 under the HMWSSB Act to plan, construct, operate and maintain the water supply and sewerage systems of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region.
From Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar to the Godavari and Krishna river grids, the Board today serves over a crore citizens — treating, transmitting and delivering water every day, and carrying used water safely back for treatment and reuse.
Guided by the Government of Telangana’s Vision 2047, HMWSSB is building a resilient, equitable and sustainable water future for the metropolitan region.

What we are here to do
Safe Drinking Water
Source, treat and supply potable water meeting BIS 10500 standards to every household and institution in the metropolitan region.
Efficient Sewerage
Collect, convey and treat used water to protect public health, our lakes and the Musi river — with maximum recycling and reuse.
Citizen-First Service
Transparent tariffs, quick connections, 24×7 grievance redressal through 155313, and digital services for every citizen.
